My Computing Past
I got my first computer when I was about 12 years old. It was a Commodore 64. It was Christmas Eve and I had my first sprites scrolling across the screen in brilliant cyan by Christmas morning.
I took classes in Summer school to learn BASIC and traded games with my friends.
My next computer was a Commodore Amiga, which I bought with my graduation money. I started Computer Science in college and widened my scope to include photography.
After college it was tough getting started, but I landed a job as a data processing operator for a long distance company. My computer experience helped me get into the development department where I began programming. That job led me to many career advancements and a big move from Houston, Texas to New York City.
After 6 years of service with my last job I was laid off, so I'm on the lookout for a great new opportunity...
Work Habits
I'm a little fanatic about consistency.
I like efficient code. I like re-usable code.
I hate rewriting code so I modularize anything that's used more than once.
I prefer hand-coding to wizards.
I'm an amazing Web researcher. When I need help solving a problem, I always consult the web; chances are someone has encountered your problem and found a solution.
I hate hard-coding data. I like data-driven apps, like my Web Site.
